Favorite Household Cleaning Brushes + How to Clean Them

When it comes to maintaining a spotless home, having the right tools can make all the difference. Household Cleaning Brushes are indispensable for tackling various cleaning tasks efficiently. In this post, I'll share some of my favorite Household Cleaning Brushes, their practical applications, and tips on how to keep them clean.

Kitchen Brushes

Nightly Sink Household Cleaning Brush

One of my go-to tools is the Nightly Sink Household Cleaning Brush. I use this brush exclusively for my Nightly Sink Scrub Routine. It’s perfect for scrubbing the sink and ensuring it stays sparkling clean.

Dish Brush

A good dish brush is a must-have in any kitchen. My favorite has a removable, dishwasher-safe head, making it ideal for hand washing dishes. Plus, it comes with refills, so you can always have a fresh brush on hand.

Cast Iron Brush

If you own cast iron cookware, you know how important it is to keep it clean without damaging the seasoning. A dedicated Cast Iron Household Cleaning Brush is perfect for this job, ensuring your cast iron remains in top condition. I keep all three of these brushes next to the sink in a vintage pitcher. This not only allows them to dry thoroughly between uses but also adds a charming touch to my kitchen decor.

Detail Brushes

Detail brushes are fantastic for getting into those hard-to-reach nooks and crannies, like refrigerator and freezer edges, seals, and appliance crevices. They also work wonders on handles and faucets. I particularly like the ones from Full Circle and OXO.

Garbage Disposal Brush

If you have a garbage disposal, a specialized brush is essential. This Household Cleaning Brush gets under the black seal of the garbage disposal, ensuring it’s thoroughly clean. I store these less frequently used brushes under the kitchen sink in an upcycled pot, keeping them organized and easily accessible.

Bathroom Brushes

Toilet Brush

A good toilet brush is a bathroom essential. I prefer the one from OXO because it’s discreet, easy to clean, and has a replaceable brush head. I keep one in each bathroom. To keep it clean, I place it under the toilet seat after cleaning and spray it with hydrogen peroxide. You can check out my complete natural cleaning method for toilets [here](#).

Grout Brush

For those with tiled bathrooms, a grout brush is a lifesaver. Its narrow design focuses on the grouted areas, making it easier to keep your tiles looking pristine.

Large Surface Household Cleaning Brush

A large surface Household Cleaning Brush is perfect for scrubbing tubs and showers. I use it with my Bathroom Scrub and/or Oxygen Whitener for a thorough clean.

Laundry Brush

When dealing with stubborn or set-in stains, a laundry brush is invaluable. I usually wet the fabric, sprinkle it with Oxygen Whitener, and give it a gentle scrub with my favorite laundry brush.

How to Clean Household Cleaning Brushes

Keeping your Household Cleaning Brushes clean is crucial for maintaining their effectiveness. Generally, they should be thoroughly rinsed with hot water after each use and allowed to air dry. For dish brushes, I prefer ones with removable heads that can go in the dishwasher daily or as needed. For bathroom brushes or those that need disinfecting, I spray them thoroughly with hydrogen peroxide and allow them to air dry completely.
